I began my career in teaching, becoming a deputy year head at a large comprehensive school. After moving to Burton upon Trent in 1983, I started looking at other careers and for a short time owned a gift shop in New Street. I then became a will writer and joined a local firm of Independent Financial Advisers, setting up my own firm in 2010 until I retired in 2010.
I was educated at Penwortham Girls’ Grammar School and then went to the University of Newcastle upon Tyne where I gained a BA in Politics and Georgraphy, then a PGDip Ed.
I later went to Staffordshire University and gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Law and a Post Graduate in Legal Practice.
In my career as an Independent Financial Adviser, I attained a Diploma in Financial Advice.
