Ed retired from Thomas Alleynes High School Uttoxeter in 2014 after 12 years as farm manager and HLTA. Prior to that he had been a dairy farmer for 35 years.
Originally 4 GCEs from Alleynes Grammar School Uttoxeter , then National Certificate in Agriculture from Staffs College of Agriculture, Rodbaston.

Founder member of the Tom Boden Memorial sports trust who raised £10,000 to purchase Denstone tennis courts and bowling green and protect them from the developers, then £10,000 more for a trust fund to keep them going.
Founder member of Wootton Cricket Club who turned a cattle pasture into a cricket ground. Founder of the first farmers market in Derbyshire at Buxton followed by ones at Glossop, Belper and Swadlincote
